All members of the Dickinson community are encouraged to employ a consistent approach to their email signatures to ensure we’re representing the institution well in our outbound correspondence.
Dos and Don’ts
DO:
- use a clean, simple email signature like the samples provided below
- use a font size of 10-12 points for readability
- use a sans serif typeface like Arial, Calibri or Helvetica that is universally recognized
- ensure your hyperlinks are clear and professional
- keep your signature concise for optimum readability
DON’T:
- use imported graphics (like the Dickinson wordmark) due to the possibility of distortion in the receiver’s message
- attempt to create text resembling the wordmark as part of an email signature
- include any extraneous text or imagery
- use background images in the body of the email

Dickinson Red
This addition of Dickinson red to highlight key areas of the signature should be used sparingly, and ideally on the name of the institution and no more than one other key element.
Use hex code #c8102e for any red portions of signature. Do not use standard red as it is too bright and does not align with branding. You can access more color options by clicking “More colors” to enter a custom hex code. For additional support, please refer to the Outlook help menu.
