Research shows that high-impact practices (HIPs)—such as internships, undergraduate research, community-based learning, study abroad, and first-year seminars, to name a few—go beyond building a strong resume. They deepen learning, foster self-discovery, and help students connect their experiences to their goals.

At Dickinson, we offer distinctive programs like the Academic Internship & Research Program (INP/REXP) and the Fellowships Program, connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences and professional growth. Through critical reflection, students articulate their learning, shape their story, and gain clarity about their strengths, values, and future direction. These transformative opportunities support students in accomplishing their goals and preparing to navigate life beyond college with confidence and purpose.

Gain valuable experience through internships and receive credit through our INP. Engage in hands-on learning while deepening your understanding of your personal and professional goals, career interests, and next steps.

REXP - Academic Internship & Research Program

Conduct in-depth scholarly research and get credit for your hard work. Our REXP gives you the tools to delve deeper into your academic passions while engaging in original investigation designed to create new knowledge in a recognized field of inquiry.

Internship Grants

Need financial support to pursue an unpaid or low-paid internship? The Summer Internship Grant Program offers competitive funding to help offset certain experiences and help you focus on your goals.

Dickinson in DC Program

Dickinson in London: Summer Internship Program

Immerse yourself in the , an eight-week full-time experience offering professional growth in one of the world’s most dynamic cities. Build workplace skills, explore global industries, and immerse yourself in London’s vibrant culture and history.
