2025 SPRING TERM ENROLLMENT
In order to ensure all students are able to fully participate in their academic life, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ has established the following policy regarding health insurance for students:
If you are a full-time matriculating student who is not a U.S. Citizen, you are required to be enrolled in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Student Health Insurance and will be automatically enrolled (this includes the Carlisle campus or any study abroad program). All other full-time matriculating students attending Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ must enroll in or waive out of the insurance coverage offered by the College. Students who wish to waive out of the coverage must be U.S. Citizens and provide proof of private coverage. Students who do not enroll or waive, by the end of the open enrollment period, will be automatically enrolled in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Student Health Insurance.
Once enrolled in the plan, there are no refunds/cancellations except for entry into the armed forces or if eligibility was not met.
The purchase of the student health insurance policy provides a spring term of health insurance with effective dates of 01/01/2025 thru 07/31/2025, with the spring term premium of $1,284.00. Any student who has not enrolled or waived by January 20, 2025, may have a hold placed on their student account. Any student who has not enrolled or waived by January 31, 2025, will be charged for the student health insurance.
Information on enrolling in or waiving out of the student health insurance will be sent to the students' in December for the spring 2025 term. Before you waive:
There have been some incidences with high-deductible plans, out-of-state Medicaid plans, and HMOs that have hindered students trying to access healthcare from local community resources. We strongly recommend that you check with your insurance provider to assure continued health insurance coverage while at Dickinson, specifically for diagnostic testing (lab work and x-rays) and referrals to specialists.
A note about HMOs: Some HMOs offer guest membership plans which provide healthcare benefits to continue at the same level when away from home. Please contact your HMO insurance provider to find out if this option is available.
