Student Ambassador Description
The Burgess Student Ambassadors are students from across the curriculum to provide ideas, feedback, and recommendations on Burgess Institute strategies and programming. Ambassadors work closely with the Executive Director to represent the perspectives and needs of the entire student body.
Composition
No more than twelve current students from across the curriculum can serve on the Student Advisory Council. Students are asked to serve a minimum of one year.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage: Members are expected attend all meetings unless receiving permission to miss by the executive director. Student Ambassadors meets every few weeks to discuss opportunities, share ideas, and evaluate programming.
- Collaborate: Members work closely to discuss important issues, propose solutions, and create initiatives that benefit students. It is expected that you come to each meeting prepared to share ideas while also listening to the perspectives of fellow members.
- Advise: Members offers advice to the executive director to make the best decisions for our students and the college.
- Promote: Members communicate Burgess Institute events to fellow students and academic departments across the curriculum and host information sessions throughout the year.
- Host: Members will be asked to serve as hosts for alumni and other guests and potentially introduce speakers at campus events.
- Lead: Students will be asked to lead and organize at least one event or program per academic year.
