2024-25 Academic Year Begins with Convocation Ceremony

Members of the class of 2028 officially joined the Dickinson community by signing in to the college during Convocation on Sunday, Sept. 1. The ceremony also marked the beginning of the 2024-25 academic year.

The act of ascending Old West's stone steps to enter the Dickinson community is one half of a long-held Dickinson tradition. The doors of Old West only open twice each year, once when the first-year class joins the college during Convocation, and then again when the graduating class walks down the stone steps to become alumni during Commencement.
