This past season, Dickinson’s soccer field was the stage for some remarkable stories of passion, perseverance and camaraderie. And two standout athletes on the pitch were Ethan Jarden ’26 and Isra Khan ’26.

ISRA KHAN: A GLOBAL AMBASSADOR

Khan’s soccer story is one of family tradition and international representation. Introduced to the sport by her father, Isra and her family shared a competitive spirit that fueled their love of the game.

“Having siblings that were just as passionate made me love playing the sport as well as really helped me improve my skills at a young age,” says the biochemistry & molecular biology major. “To this day, my dad still goes to the field with me and stands in goal, which is a really special memory I’m able to make with him.”

At Dickinson, Khan has found a home away from home.

“I was drawn to Dickinson for the amazing culture on the women’s soccer team,” she says. “Upon my first introduction with former team members, I was immediately welcomed and knew I had a support system of 30 girls if I ever needed anything.”

Khan’s journey extends beyond Dickinson, as she proudly represents Pakistan on the international stage, having played in Tajikistan, Singapore, Nepal and Pakistan.

Isra is a selfless teammate who gives everything she has to the Dickinson ,” says Ted Zingman, head women’s soccer coach. “I’m so proud to have her represent us on the international stage with the Pakistani Women’s National Team, and I can’t think of a better ambassador for our school and soccer program.”

ETHAN JARDEN: A RELENTLESS COMPETITOR

Jarden’s love affair with soccer began at a young age. And right away he felt like it might be a calling.

“I got into soccer when I was around 3 years old, primarily as a hobby,” the political science major said. “But I quickly fell in love with the sport. I often found myself at my dad’s side watching soccer games and simply just thinking, ‘I want to do that someday.’”

At Dickinson, Jarden has continued his soccer journey in striking fashion, scoring 13 goals and with 21 assists across 24 games this season. With all that success, his favorite win as a Red Devil was against Gettysburg, a thrilling 4-3 victory that ended this year’s showdown in a long-standing rivalry.

“To be able to go back and forth against them in a thrilling game and come out on top with the game winner is something I will always remember,” says Jarden, who had three of the Red Devils’ four goals and was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team this season.

“Ethan is a coach’s dream,” says Jorge Chapoy, head coach. “He has a remarkable work ethic and is a relentless competitor. He leads by example on and off the field and is a huge reason the program has improved every season he has been with us, playing a pivotal role in the great run we are experiencing.”
